NEW COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS CONSULTANCY MORMAER ASSOCIATES LAUNCHES IN ABERDEEN

A new Aberdeen-based consultancy has launched with a mission to make professional communications, public affairs and PR support more accessible to businesses, charities and organisations across the North East.

Mormaer Associates, founded by Luke Buchan and Alan Petrie, will provide tailored support across communications, media and public relations, public affairs, campaigns, social media and events.

The consultancy aims to connect business, the third sector and government, helping organisations tell their stories, reach the right audiences and engage effectively with the institutions and decision-makers that matter to them.

Based in Aberdeen, Mormaer Associates has been established around the belief that access to professional communications, media and government should not depend on the size of an organisation's budget or network. Its services can be provided individually or built into tailored packages around the needs of each client.

Luke Buchan, Director and Co-Founder of Mormaer Associates, said:

“There are businesses, charities and organisations doing fantastic work every day, but too often they don't have the time, resources or connections to make sure that work is seen and heard.

“That's the gap we want Mormaer Associates to help close. Good communications, access to the media and the ability to engage effectively with decision-makers shouldn't be something available only to the biggest organisations with the biggest budgets.

“Our approach is to understand what each client actually needs and build our support around them, whether that's telling their story, raising their profile, navigating the political landscape or delivering a campaign.”

Alan Petrie, Director and Co-Founder of Mormaer Associates, said:

“The North East has an incredibly diverse business and third sector community, and there is a huge amount of knowledge, ambition and good work happening across the region.

“A lot of what we have both learned through our careers is that relationships matter. Bringing the right people together, understanding different interests and knowing how to engage with communities and organisations can make a real difference.

“We want Mormaer to be rooted here in the North East, building those relationships and becoming a trusted partner for the organisations we work alongside.”

The name Mormaer comes from the early medieval Scottish title for a regional steward, who governed locally while representing the interests of their people. The company has adopted the principle "Stewards of your story” reflecting its role in representing clients and ensuring their voices are heard where it matters.

To mark its launch, Mormaer Associates will host An Evening with Mormaer Associates at Siberia Bar & Hotel in Aberdeen on Thursday 20 August from 6pm, all are welcome.

The free networking evening will bring together businesses, charities, organisations and professionals from across the city and wider North East, with several local organisations also given an opportunity to introduce their work.
